BETH
EDDIE
11/11 - Last show of the year was LKA where Eddie won his first class up with the big boys in PG under Graham Rogers! Beth only managed a 5th in junior as was definitely in jumping mode ...
November
27/11 - Took Eddie and Beth to ESSC open under replacement judge Karl Payne. Eddie won yearling and was 2nd in graduate to Wendy's Mac. Beth did not fare so well coming second to Ray Smith's Sophistique in junior and 3rd in graduate so not really Karl's cup of tea. Enjoyed Wendy's company (and driving) on the way and back but a very long day...
26/11 - Just Beth went to Reading open show under Judith Carruthers and I was delighted with a win in PG and Open plus her first BOB! However, she completely bombed in the group under Jeff Horswell ...
19/11 - Beth and I went to South of England Gundog under Anthony Allen (Allenie). She won junior and PG (got a point!) and was awarded RBOB to Wendy's Mac which was very pleasing.
7/11 - Libby (Roqfolly Girls Aloud) presented us with six puppies by Spencer today. Mum and babies doing well.
6/11 - Took both Eddie and Beth to Midland English Springer Spaniel Society breed ch show on Sunday under Angie Pidcock (Ketsby). Totally delighted that Eddie won both yearling and graduate and was moving really well. It was a DCC and later BIS for Bob & Frances Jackson's Sh Ch Mompesson Cavendish and Eddie was awarded the RDCC, his first, and such a thrill for Teresa and me! Beth was a little excitable but won her junior class and a good second in yearling and graduate so was pleased with her also. Topping the day was a BCC & RBIS for Dave and Jacky's Peasblossom Aria, her second, so it was a very happy van on the long journey home!
October
28/10 - Just Beth travelled to Midland Counties Ch Show where, unfortunately, she was the only competitor in junior bitch under Per Iverson (Norway). However it was yet another DCC for dad Seamus
16/10 - Travelled to Scotland to judge the ESSC of Scotland's breed club open show where it was BIS for Jo Cunliffe's Calvdale My Girl of Fallenleaf. Daughter Victoria joined me for the day which was fabulous and the club's hospitality was a very warm welcome and a lovely lunch. Thoroughly enjoyed my day. Meanwhile Lesley McCourt and Jane Eyeington transported Eddie and Beth to the SW ESSC where Jane's Meadowdale Banjo was BIS under Jacky Mitchell and she handled both Eddie to a first in yearling and Beth to Reserve Best Bitch! Go Jane!!
12/10 - At Gundog Society of Wales it was BOB for Dave and Jacky's Seamus under Jock Mackay and a lovely first in junior for Beth. She repeated the exercise and yearling at the ESSC of Wales open show that followed under judge Angela Chandler and took four JW points!
1/10 - Judged Tunbridge Wells & DCS's companion show today at Five Oak Green. Stiflingly hot!! Had some quality dogs to judge and fell in love with a gorgeous labrador bitch. BP went to Wendy Walker's young lad - will watch him and his delightful litter sister with interest. Enjoyed my day and the club made lots of money for the local Hospice.
September 2011
4/09 - An exciting day at Birmingham City with Eddie & Beth's sire, Sh Ch/Norduch Barecho Hold Your Horses at Peasblossom (Seamus) going one better than at Bournemouth and winning the gundog group under Sandra Marshall. Earlier we were pleased with a first for Eddie in his last junior class and a good second for Beth in junior bitch.
18/09 - The long trip to Darlington with Jacky Mitchell proved to be another great day for Beth and Eddie's dad when Seamus once again took BOB under Colin Woodward & G2 under Patsy Hollings. Only Beth attended as Eddie is having a rest before joining the big boys. She took first in junior bitch so we were really pleased.
21/09 - Went to watch Tilly (Crackerjanne Calamity Jane) at her first limited show at Dover & Deal. Beth's sister did herself proud by winning three of her classes and coming second in the other three. Really chuffed for Jane and Andrew with whom Tilly lives and, unlike Beth, she is sooooo laid back!
30/09 - Beth travelled to Driffield without me with Helene Bjorkman, Jacky and Vanja who handled her to a first in junior. Another BOB for Seamus under Edith Rose (Rosannoch) but no group place today!
July and August 2011
2/07 - At Windsor under judge Jackie Weyman Eddie won his class
against tough opposition. Beth also won junior bitch so a fabulous day all round.
16/07 - Only Eddie attended SESSS open show and was handled by Maureen Read as Teresa was stewarding. Tom Mather awarded him a first in both junior and graduate, so two points!
17/07 - Teresa took Eddie to Peterborough where they had a fabulous day winning all their classes, BOB and G4 - more points!!
23/07 - Both youngsters travelled to Leeds Ch Show under judge Dave Mitchell. Eddie was second in Junior but managed a first in graduate to collect the final points for his Junior Warrant. Beth was also first in junior bitch and novice so a great day.
26/07 - Eddie spent the day having his photos taken for a new book at Tracey Morgan's. Obviously he thoroughly enjoyed the attention and all those lovely treats. I am not sure who was more exhausted at the end, him or me!
31/07 - After a week of non-stop lawn mowing we held a companion show at Appletree Cottage in aid of English Springer Spaniel Welfare. The sun shone and loads of people/dogs arrived. Family Woodbridge and helpers worked really hard and made a profit of £550 for the Charity.
Eddie was lent for the junior handling class and he and his proud handler came 3rd!!! He also tried his hand at the scurry - carefully making his way round all the straw bales to retrieve his dummy!
6/08 - Fran Glendinning judged National Gundog Ch Show where Eddie took first in junior and 3rd in Graduate while Beth won a really strong junior bitch class and was second in novice. We celebrated Eddie's official JW status afterwards with wine and a gorgeous cake provided by Jacky Mitchell with his photo done in icing on the top! A great day.
15/08 - Both Eddie & Beth travelled to Bournemouth Ch Show under Wendy Walker. There was a first for Eddie in Junior (!) and Beth gained a creditable 3rd In junior bitch and was first in Novice, winning out of this class now. Great excitement as their dad, Sh Ch/Norduch Ch Barecho Hold Your Horses at Peasblossom JW (Seamus) was DCC and BOB, going on to Group 2 under Valerie Foss, his first such win after 13 CCs.
21/08 - The long drive to Welsh KC proved worthwhile with a first for Eddie (handled carefully by Teresa as he lost a nail in the week (ouch!) and was still a bit sore). Beth took second in junior and won out of novice with 3 points. Teresa took 3rd in junior with Matilda, Eddie's sister, so a good family occasion! BCC went to Peasblossom Butterfly at Beresford bred by Jacky and Dave so plenty to celebrate!
27/08 - Dave Mitchell drove us to SKC (bless him, what a drive) for Trudy Short's opinion. Eddie won his junior class and came a very creditable second in Yearling behind the eventual DCC winner, Peasblossom Escape to Beresford (his second, much celebration!). It was a first for Beth too in junior bitch although a small class and no points. I met up with daughter Victoria and went to spend a few days in this lovely cold country while Dave kindly returned my dogs to England for me.
EDDIE WINS THE RESERVE DOG CHALLENGE CERTIFICATE AT MIDLAND ENGLISH SPRINGER SPANIEL SOCIETY CH SHOW 2011!!!!!
